If a building or a building section is subjected to an air tightness test, an airtight panel is mounted on an adjustable frame which is built-in in a window or outside door of the building section of measurement. A mounted rubber gasket on an aluminum profile is fixed to a door frame or a window frame. This way the outdoor air cannot enter the building section uncontrollably in which the measurement takes place. A speed controlled fan is integrated into the panel and produces a pressurization or depressurization. The pressurization as well as the depressurization is needed for the calculation of the required air change rate . Considering the already obtained data of the building, such as the included air volume of the measured rooms, the rate of the air exchange per hour with 50 Pa [Pascal] (n50-value) and the stream of air volume per m² will be determined.

The blower door measurement gives you information about the leak-tightness or leakage of the building section which has to be inspected. The process of the pressure differential measurement is regulated by EN 13829 in today’s relevant version and with an included measurement report as well as the exact report of eventual defects (images, report) The metering must be realized by a certified specialist, authorized expert or a construction physicist
